Who can open a non-resident account?
Pursuant to the Foreign Exchange Act (Official Gazette 96/03), the Decision Governing the Conditions for and the Manner of Opening and Managing Non-Resident Bank Accounts (Official Gazette 124/06, 131/06) and the Decision on amendments to the Decision Governing the Conditions for and the Manner of Opening and Managing Non-Resident Bank Accounts (Official Gazette 74/07), accounts may be opened by:
- Legal persons based abroad
- Representative offices of foreign legal persons in Croatia
- Sole traders, small businesses (tradespeople) and other natural persons based or resident abroad, who are self-employed and conduct a registered business activity abroad
- Foreign diplomatic and consular representative offices in Croatia and other organisations and bodies operating in Croatia on the basis of bilateral or multilateral international agreements ratified by Croatia, and which are based outside Croatia
- Foreign associations and other foreign organisations
- Natural persons resident abroad
- Branch offices of resident companies operating abroad
