Allianz Complementary Health Insurance
Allianz Complementary Health Insurance covers all participation costs of mandatory health insurance with the possibility of arranging and covering participation for the medications from the Additional B medication list.
It covers:
- Coverage of all participation costs of mandatory health insurance:
- in primary health care - at a general practitioner, gynecologist or dentist
- in specialist examinations - at dentist, gynecologist etc.
- in diagnostic examinations
- in physical therapies
- in case of hospital stay
- each time a medical prescription is issued
- Additional coverage:
- daily compensation for hospital stays
- home care.

Arrangement
Activation
When arranging insurance, a waiting period is defined (grace period, i.e. period when insurance cannot be used) in the duration of 15 days from the beginning of insurance.
The waiting period will not be applied when transferring from other insurance providers or for supplemental insurance (home care and hospital compensation).
Use
The insurance covers the difference up to the full price of healthcare services covered by the mandatory health insurance (the participation of the insured in healthcare costs).
The Basic package covers all participation costs of mandatory health insurance (all costs covered by the complementary health insurance provided by the Croatian Health Insurance Institute).
The Extended package covers all costs covered by the Basic package (covered by the complementary health insurance provided by the Croatian Health Insurance Institute) plus the participation costs for B medication list.
IMPORTANT NOTE: the insurance covers a maximum of two original packages of each medication on the B medication list in each year of insurance.
The Home care additional coverage covers the services of a healthcare professional in the event of an accident (e.g. a bone fracture or a ruptured ligament) or an illness leading to a hospital stay longer than 24 hours, as well as a second medical opinion.
The Daily compensation for hospital stays additional coverage covers a daily monetary compensation for the duration of a hospital stay due to an accident or illness.
After arranging the insurance, download the free m-Allianz application on your smartphone, from either Google Play or App Store.
The installed application contains Additional Health Insurance which contains your digital health card. When using the healthcare services, it is sufficient to open the digital card and show it to the worker in a pharmacy or health facility.
The worker will scan / enter the data from the card, and Allianz will pay for the co-payment costs.
