Accessibility Statement

The “Accessibility Statement” (herein: “Statement”) aims to provide the information that shows how the service complies with the applicable accessibility requirements. The service provider is Zagrebačka banka d.d., PIN: 92963223473, with its registered office at Trg bana Josipa Jelačića 10, 10000 Zagreb, Republic of Croatia, email: zaba@unicreditgroup.zaba.hr, phone number: 01/ 3773 333 (herein: “Bank”). Through continuous improvement of its services, the Bank strives to make its services compliant with the Act on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services (Official Gazette: No. 89/2025), hereinafter referred to as the “Act”.

GENERAL TITLE OF SERVICES, DESCRIPTION AND EXPLANATION OF SERVICES, COMPLIANCE OVERVIEW:

The online banking service available through a mobile application (m-zaba)

It allows users to manage their finances using their mobile phones. The service fully adheres to the Act in the aspect of basic functionalities of services relating to payment transactions in the m-zaba application for individuals, such as account overview, transactions, issuing payment orders and product settings.

1. Contrast and readability

Owing to additional improvements m-zaba now offers better contrast and a more comfortable display for users with light sensitivity. Using colours with high contrast makes the text and elements in the application clearly visible to users with visual impairments. All buttons and elements in the application have clear descriptions, and the text describing the function of each button and element can be accurately read to the user by a screen reader.

2. Text alternatives

The application works with screen readers and supports TalkBack (Android), Voice Assistant (Samsung) and VoiceOver (iOS) options. The user can have the text on the screen read aloud and guided through the app functionalities. If the user increases the font size in the phone settings, the application automatically enlarges the text for easier reading.

3. Navigation and structure

The application features simple and logical navigation, and the information is displayed in a way that enables the screen reader user to track them in order, from top to bottom. All functionalities are accessible to visually impaired users and the application is committed to ensuring equal accessibility for all, taking into account the technical limitations of mobile devices.

4. Keyboard accessibility

All functionalities can be navigated using only a keyboard, without a mouse.

5. Forms and feedback

All form inputs have clear labels and error messages, making them more understandable for users.

6. Adjustable layout

Content adapts to different screen sizes and device orientations, without compromising its functionality (responsive design).

In some aspects the service is partially compliant with the Act on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services in the part relating to the following:

  • Contracting new products (cash loans, product and service packages, credit cards, etc.), because intensive work is being done on adjustments so that key features of these services also brought in compliance with accessibility requirements;
  • Videos linked from individual messages in the m-zaba inbox do not have subtitles or audio descriptions. Assistive technologies cannot read text embedded in videos.
  • In some cases, labels or instructions have not been provided, as the content requires user input.

Application accessibility testing with real screen reader users is carried out on a regular basis and it is continuously enhanced based on feedback provided by visually impaired users and accessibility experts.

Online banking via the internet (e-zaba)

A new version of e-zaba fully adapted for use by people with certain disabilities, the elderly, or people with certain perception disorders is in preparation.

Website (www.zaba.hr)

In order to make the Zaba.hr website compliant with the Act on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services, the following features have been improved:

1. Contrast and readability

The contrast between text and background has been improved. The ability to enlarge text up to 200% without losing functionality or content has been implemented. Suitable font size has been used for improved readability. The active state of elements is clearly indicated by visible focus. Links within paragraphs have been visually emphasized by a combination of colour and underlining, which highlights them and makes them stand out from the rest of the text.

2. Text alternatives

All images, graphics and icons have been added alternative descriptions to make them easier to understand for screen reader users. In addition to text description, informative icons have been added to key action elements (such as links and buttons) to make the function of the elements easier to identify. Content that is run automatically has been supplemented with manual controls to manage the display.

3. Navigation and structure

Navigation is consistent on all pages. Labelling and positioning of interface elements with the same functions is consistent, and there is a clear content hierarchy using headings (H1, H2, H3, etc.) in a logical and consistent order making it easy for readers using assistive technologies to understand the content and navigate it. Also, a skip navigation feature has been added to enable quick access to the main content.

4. Keyboard accessibility

All functionalities can be navigated using only a keyboard, without a mouse. Also, the content that runs automatically has been added manual input allowing users to adjust and control the display. Interactive content that relies on "motion" functionality has additional input methods for users with motor impairments.

5. Forms and feedback

All form inputs have clear labels and error messages, making them more understandable for users.

6. Adjustable layout

Content adapts to different screen sizes and device orientations, without compromising its functionality (responsive design), and using text in visuals is avoided used only if necessary.

In conclusion, we are committed to continuous improvement of the above-mentioned services in order to ensure full compliance with the Act on Requirements for the Accessibility of Products and Services.

ATMs

Compliance level:

In keeping with the provisions of the Act, ATMs used by the Bank in providing services prior to June 28, 2025 will remain in use with current functionalities until the end of their useful life, but no longer than 20 years from the date they were put into use.

All new ATMs installed after June 28, 2025 will be compliant with the accessibility requirements the Act provides, which will be achieved through implementing solutions that ensure accessibility for people with disabilities, such as: tactile symbols on the ATM keyboard (Braille), a headphone jack for reproducing audio instructions that correspond to visual instructions on the ATM screen, font and contrast adjustment on the ATM screen, etc.
