A Package for the Youth can be arranged by any adult full-time or part-time student (resident or non-resident) up to 29 years of age. Additional benefits are given to students who have the Package for the Youth upon presentation of the student transcript book “indeks” with a certified semester or a certificate from any Croatian university, polytechnic or college, or a certificate from postgraduate study. The student X-card “X-ica” cannot be used for this purpose.
Package for the Youth
The Package for the Youth may be arranged/activated by any person under the age of 29.
The Package for the Youth can be arranged by signing the Transaction service agreement (unless it is being arranged on behalf of a minor lacking legal capacity).

The Package contains:
- current account in EUR with debit card
- giro account in EUR with debit card
- on-line banking: m-zaba and e-zaba
- availability of a banker through e-branch
- cash withdrawal abroad using debit cards on ATMs of banks which are members of the UniCredit Group from current accounts in EUR and giro accounts in EUR free of charge (find them via m-zaba)
- education loans with no application processing fee
Additional information:
If you are a university student:
- Current account in EUR with debit card
- contracted overdraft of EUR 150 without regular income
- instalment payment up to EUR 150 without regular income
- on line shopping and instalment payment - Mastercard Student card
- credit card with a EUR 250 limit which is approved upon certificate of a ragular student status only
- on line shopping or instalment payments free of interest or other charges in thousands of stores in Croatia
If you are not a university student:
- Current account in EUR with debit card
- tacitly accepted overdraft and instalment payment are granted in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Bank
- go!card Mastercard credit card is granted upon client's request and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Bank

Arrangement
All resident students (full-time and part-time students - who are residents of the Republic of Croatia and are enrolled into studies at Croatian universities, polytechnics, colleges or postgraduate studies with an ID or student transcript book “indeks” or certificate of student status) can apply for a Mastercard Student card.
You can submit the request for issuing the card, i.e. the application form at any branch, but the card is approved by the parent branch (parent branch for clients who have a Student Lepeza Package or Package for the youth is the branch where they arranged the Lepeza Package/Package for the youth, and parent branch for users who do not have them is the branch where they opened their current account in EUR).
The prerequisite is opening of a current account in EUR in Zaba.
Activation
A non-activated card is delivered to your address and can be used after its activation, as described in the accompanying letter.
The activation differs depending on the card type and the reason for issuing the new card. Therefore, it can be activated in different ways:
- online banking (e-zaba and m-zaba)
- by using ZABA ATM
- by using the automated answering service
- in a branch of Zagrebačka banka.
Your card will be ready for use immediately after the activation.
IMPORTANT: To activate the contactless function, first you have to make at least one conventional transaction by inserting the card into an ATM (it is sufficient to check the account balance) or in a POS device at a point of sale.
Use
The Mastercard Student card is valid in Croatia and worldwide, in millions of stores, restaurants, hotels and hostels, bookstores and airports. You can use your card for online payments, and within your spending limit and with a fee you can withdraw cash on millions of ATMs and payment locations in Croatia and abroad.
Furthermore, you can use your Mastercard Student card for instalment payments, without any interests or fees at thousands of points of sale in Croatia.
A student has a spending limit of EUR 250.
If you use a debit card issued on your current account in euros or your giro account in euros included in a Lepeza mogućnosti package, the Package for the Youth, od one of our service packages – Start, Smart or Superior, to withdraw cash abroad from ATMs of UniCredit Group member banks, the Bank will charge you no fees, in accordance with the Fee Tariff Decision. For your security, for purchases in online stores displaying a Mastercard Identity Check mark you require a password, which you will obtain via a token. At points of sale not supporting a security standard, you purchase without a token. Arranging a token is free of charge.
A legal representative/guardian can dispose of funds in the account of a minor pursuant to provisions of the Family Act and other applicable regulations.
Security
The user is obliged to report a lost or stolen card immediately to the bank’s Contact Centre (24/7) via tel. 01 3789 789 and confirm the report in writing in nearest branch of the bank.
It is also possible to report a lost/stolen card in the nearest bank branch.
Please adhere to the following pieces of advice:
- Remember the PIN and never write it down on the card or other documents
- Destroy the old card (it will suffice to cut it through the magnetic stripe) after the expiration date
- Do not communicate the PIN or card data EVER to ANYONE
- Do not leave the card in visible places (in the car, in a cloakroom, in a hotel room, restaurant, etc.)
- Make sure to check the transaction amount prior to payment
- After the payment, verify that the card returned to you is really yours
- Keep our address and telephone number handy to be able to quickly report a lost or stolen card.
