Free service package

The Free service package includes the following services for which the Bank is not allowed to charge an eligible consumer a fee for using the package under the Fee comparability, payment account transfer and basic account access act:

  • opening, maintenance and closing of one payment account into which the consumer receives their regular income in the official currency of the Republic of Croatia (a EUR checking or giro account or a multi-currency checking or giro account);
  • e-zaba online banking;
  • if the consumer is deemed eligible under the applicable consumer finance laws, an option to arrange an overdraft facility of up to EUR 250 for each EUR checking account included in the Free service package, subject to the Bank’s business policy (this applies to newly arranged overdraft facilities included in the Free service package);
  • cash deposits to the payment account at ATMs, excluding coins;
  • cash withdrawal from the payment account at ATMs;
  • incoming national and cross-border payment transactions in euros;
  • issuance and use of a debit card;
  • debit card payment services at physical stores.

If the consumer is formally a pensioner or belongs to a sensitive consumer group, the Bank will not charge its fee for withdrawing cash from a payment account included in the Free service package at branches or at ATMs.

The Bank will issue a debit card to the account holder, unless they are contractually incapacitated, in which case it will be issued to their attorney, legal representative or custodian.

In addition to the accounts included in the Free service package, the consumer may arrange other products or services offered by the Bank, which are subject to the Extract from the Decision on Fee Rates for the Bank’s Individual Transaction Account Services, Payment Services and Direct Channels.

For the purpose of opening a Free service package, the Bank may request that the consumer provide records of their regular income as may be required to open a Package. In addition, if the consumer belongs to a sensitive consumer group within the meaning of the Act, they must present relevant evidence of their status when opening their account.

Benefits

  1. The Free service package is free of charge
  2. It includes e-zaba online banking
  3. No fees will apply to payments made from an account included in the Free service package held by a pensioner or a social welfare beneficiary

Arrangement

Any domestic or foreign natural person receiving regular income in euros into a transaction account held with the Bank may become a Free service package user.

If the person in question is contractually incapacitated, the Free service package will be arranged on behalf of that person by their custodian or legal representative.

You can arrange it at any branch of Zagrebačka banka. To arrange your Free service package, all you need to do is present a valid identity document (identity card or passport) and a certificate of your OIB (Croatian Personal ID No.), unless it appears on your identity document.

For the purpose of opening a Free service package, the Bank may request that the consumer provide evidence of their regular income.

It is very simple - just give the number of your current account in EUR to your employer (ask the Bank to give you an IBAN Certificate which you will give to your employer).

No. The services included in the Service Center are only available within the Smart Package or Superior Package.

Use

If you are deemed eligible under the applicable consumer finance laws, you have the option to arrange an overdraft facility of up to EUR 250 for each EUR checking account included in the Free service package, subject to the Bank’s business policy. This applies to newly arranged overdraft facilities included in the Free service package.

Ne. It is not possible to use an installment plan limit with a debit card within the Free Services Package.

Security

Using the card is safer than carrying cash. When using the card for payments or cash withdrawal, you will need to enter a PIN (in certain countries, you may be required to sign the sales receipt). PIN is a secret identification number known only to the card holder. Therefore, it should be kept secret and it should not be written down on a paper near your card.

If you forget your card PIN, and you use online banking, you can check your card PIN any time in our mobile app (m-zaba).

The user is obliged to report a lost or stolen card immediately to the bank’s Contact Centre (24/7) via tel. 01 3789 789 and confirm the report in writing in nearest branch of the bank.

It is also possible to report a lost/stolen card in the nearest bank branch.

Please adhere to the following pieces of advice:

  • Remember the PIN and never write it down on the card or other documents
  • Destroy the old card (it will suffice to cut it through the magnetic stripe) after the expiration date
  • Do not communicate the PIN or card data EVER to ANYONE
  • Do not leave the card in visible places (in the car, in a cloakroom, in a hotel room, restaurant, etc.)
  • Make sure to check the transaction amount prior to payment
  • After the payment, verify that the card returned to you is really yours
  • Keep our address and telephone number handy to be able to quickly report a lost or stolen card.

Zagrebačka banka will process the personal data entered in the form below for the purpose of arranging a meeting in one of its branches and will keep them for 30 days. If you are a client of Zagrebačka banka, we suggest that you enter your OIB, so the banker could prepare the best financial offers based on the available data.
