Zagrebačka banka has issued and dispatched new Mastercard cards to all clients. These Mastercard cards serve as a replacement for their existing Visa cards.
A non-activated card is delivered to your address and can be used after its activation, as described in the accompanying letter.
The activation differs depending on the card type and the reason for issuing the new card. Therefore, it can be activated in different ways:

IMPORTANT: To activate the contactless function, first you have to make at least one conventional transaction by inserting the card into an ATM (it is sufficient to check the account balance) or in a POS device at a point of sale.
You can decide how you want to use the debit card for the current account in euro. Define whether you want to use the debit card at ATMs and points of sale in Croatia, Europe or worldwide, depending on whether you travel outside of Europe or not. You can choose a model and change it later via e-zaba, m-zaba, in a Bank branch, or by calling 01 3789 620.
The contactless debit card can be used for small and large amounts (within the daily limit), for everyday shopping and for extraordinary purchases. You can shop in a quick and simple way by placing the card against a contactless payment terminal. It can be used for cash withdrawals at ATMs offering that option.
When paying at a point of sale with the Mastercard or Visa sign and the contactless payment sign, tell the seller that you want to make a contactless payment.

Contactless transactions at points of sale can be made with or without PIN authentication. Transactions up to EUR 40 can be made by placing the card against the terminal, while larger amounts require PIN authentication. The limit of EUR 40 referring to PIN authentication is currently applicable to the Croatian market.

As soon as you notice that your card has been missing, report it to the Bank so that all necessary measures for preventing fraudulent use can be taken. After reporting the missing card, you are protected from any liability and financial loss if the card is used fraudulently.
The card user is obliged to report a lost or stolen card immediately. He can do it 24/7 with the Bank stand-by service via tel. 01 3789 789 and confirm the report in writing in the nearest Bank branch. It is also possible to report a lost/stolen card in the branch.
