You need to open a current account in euro to obtain the card.
Zagrebačka banka has issued and dispatched new Mastercard cards to all clients. These Mastercard cards serve as a replacement for their existing Visa cards.
Activation
A non-activated card is delivered to your address and can be used after its activation, as described in the accompanying letter. The activation differs depending on the card type and the reason for issuing the new card. Therefore, it can be activated in different ways:
online banking (e-zaba and m-zaba)
by using ZABA ATM
by using the automated answering service
in a branch of Zagrebačka banka.
Your card will be ready for use immediately after the activation.
IMPORTANT: To activate the contactless function, first you have to make at least one conventional transaction by inserting the card into an ATM (it is sufficient to check the account balance) or in a POS device at a point of sale.
Use
You can decide how you want to use the debit card for the current account in euro. Define whether you want to use the debit card at ATMs and points of sale in Croatia, Europe or worldwide, depending on whether you travel outside of Europe or not. You can choose a model and change it later via e-zaba, m-zaba, in a Bank branch, or by calling 01 3789 620.
The contactless debit card can be used for small and large amounts (within the daily limit), for everyday shopping and for extraordinary purchases. You can shop in a quick and simple way by placing the card against a contactless payment terminal. It can be used for cash withdrawals at ATMs offering that option.
When paying at a point of sale with the Mastercard or Visa sign and the contactless payment sign, tell the seller that you want to make a contactless payment.
IMPORTANT: To activate the contactless function, first you have to make at least one conventional transaction by inserting the card into an ATM (it is sufficient to check the account balance) or in a POS device at a point of sale. Your card will be ready for use immediately after the activation.
Contactless transactions at points of sale can be made with or without PIN authentication. Transactions up to EUR 40 can be made by placing the card against the terminal, while larger amounts require PIN authentication. The limit of EUR 40 referring to PIN authentication is currently applicable to the Croatian market. withdrawals require PIN authentication, regardless of the withdrawal amount.
To activate the contactless function, first you have to make at least one conventional transaction by inserting the card into an ATM (it is sufficient to check the account balance) or in a POS device at a point of sale. If the card still doesn't work, contact the nearest Bank branch. Conventional transactions - transactions in which data between the card and the POS terminal is exchanged by reading the chip or magnetic stripe on a contact interface - the card should be inserted in a POS device or an ATM.
IMPORTANT:Your card will be ready for use immediately after the activation.
As soon as you notice that your card has been missing, report it to the Bank so that all necessary measures for preventing fraudulent use can be taken. After reporting the missing card, you are protected from any liability and financial loss if the card is used fraudulently.
The card user is obliged to report a lost or stolen card immediately. He can do it 24/7 with the Bank stand-by service via tel. 01 3789 789 and confirm the report in writing in the nearest Bank branch. It is also possible to report a lost/stolen card in the branch.
Please adhere to the following pieces of advice:
Remember the PIN and never write it down on the card or other documents
Destroy the old card (it will suffice to cut it through the magnetic stripe) after the expiration date
Do not communicate the PIN or card data EVER to ANYONE
Do not leave the card in visible places (in the car, in a cloakroom, in a hotel room, restaurant, etc.)
Make sure to check the transaction amount prior to payment
After the payment, verify that the card returned to you is really yours
Keep our address and telephone number handy to be able to quickly report a lost or stolen card.
All personal data protection rules are implemented in the same manner like with the cards for contact utilisation.
