Clients with more than one Visa card issued by Zagrebačka banka will receive their new Mastercard cards to their address gradually during the upcoming period.

Our new cards are made of recycled material, in which way we contribute to environmental protection both as an individual bank and as a member of the UniCredit Group. The new cards also have a special notch that helps the blind and visually impaired recognise the card type. Namely, debit cards have a notch in the shape of a semicircle, while credit cards have a quadrangular notch.

The process for activating your Mastercard card is quick and simple. Activate your card as soon as you can, but no later than within 30 days of receiving the same. To ensure easy migration, please follow the activation steps below:
Via m-zaba (select m-banking / Cards / Activate Card)

Please have ready: your personal identification number (OIB), the last 4 digits of your new Mastercard card and the three-digit number printed on the back of your existing Visa card.

Zagrebačka banka will replace all existing Visa cards with new Mastercard cards by the end of April 2025. You don’t have to submit a card replacement request. The card will be delivered to your address free of charge. The process of replacement will take place gradually, however. If you have more than one Visa card, you will not receive all of your new Mastercard cards at once.
No, replacement of your Visa card with a Mastercard card will not affect your PIN. It will stay the same. If you have m-zaba, you can use it to check the PIN of any card issued to your name.
If a new Mastercard card is issued for the purpose of replacing an existing Visa card, all card features, including the daily limit, stay the same. However, if an existing Visa card is blocked as a result of loss, theft or misuse, and a new Mastercard card with a new PIN is delivered to the cardholder, initial daily limits on the new card will be assigned, as will be explained in the letter sent with the card. No, the Bank will replace all Visa cards with Mastercard cards. You must activate and use only your new Mastercard card.
Of course. If you are already a member of the MultiPlusCard Loyalty Reward Program and the number of your current account in EUR is recorded in the MultiPlusCard system, you will be able to collect your reward points using the new card as well.
The new cards do not have a signature strip and do not need to be signed. The new Mastercard card has a cutout that serves to the blind and partially sighted people to make it easier for them to recognize which card it is. Debit cards have a semicircular cutout, while credit cards and deferred payment cards have a square shaped cutout.
Yes, after the Visa debit card issued for a consumer transaction account is replaced, all users of such account will receive new cards as well. Once the account holder activates his/her new Mastercard card, all existing Visa cards held by authorised users will be deactivated. Before activating your new card, please check (as the account holder) whether all your authorised users have received their new cards, and make sure that you inform them after you activate your new card as they need to activate theirs as well.

Until the April 2025, Zagrebačka banka will replace all existing Visa cards with new Mastercard cards. The scope of the process of replacement makes it impossible for us to keep the same expiry dates. If the new card has a closer expiry date, this will not affect your ability to use it in terms of continuity. Namely, before the expiry of your new card, the Bank will timely send you a new one.
